Commercial Waste Management

Waste management is separated into many links along the supply chain. Commercial Waste management is broken down to a few processes; the collection, transport, disposal, processing, managing and monitoring of waste materials. The broad term Waste management usually relates to materials produced by human activity, and the process is generally undertaken to reduce their effect on health, the environment or aesthetics. Commercial Waste management on the other hand is a distinct practice from resource recovery which focuses on delaying the rate of consumption of natural resources on a commercial and industrial level. All wastes materials, whether they are solid, liquid, gaseous or radioactive fall within the remit of commercial waste management.

Our part in the commercial waste management is the disposal, processing and managing of the commercial waste that comes through our gates. We are a small waste management establishment in the terms of size, but we put every effort towards recycling and re distributing as much of the waste back into reuse.

Commercial Waste management practices can differ for developed and developing nations, for urban and rural areas, and for residential and industrial producers.

Basics of Waste Management.

Our commercial waste management facility helps minimize the harm to the environment. Rather then dumping all the waste into landfill, waste management is their to turn a good percentage of consumers and industrial waste back into usable products. Improvements and new practices in waste management and environmental solutions are in the news all the time, and consumer response to the media has shown an increase in corporate social responsibility, so that organisations dispose of their waste accordingly.

Commercial Waste Management – Reduce You Costs.

Where is your waste?

A major cost in waste management is the transportation of the waste itself. If you are a construction company or large outfit and you transport the waste yourself, and you have multiple venues of engagement, it would be a smart idea to organize a central hub for your commercial waste to be stored for transportation. On the other hand, if you hire an organisation for your commercial waste management and you have multiple venues, then that increases the number of bins they have to drop off and pick up thus increasing your costs there. Commercial Waste ManagementTry not to have any airspace in the bin or container as the air space could have been used more efficiently, thus creating a central hub to eliminate this problem.

Shop around.

If you have been with the same waste management company for years, it is likely that you have been through a few price hikes. A phone call to other waste management organisations could in the area could save you some money. Negotiate.

Bulk discounts.

With shopping around comes bulk discounts. Most commercial waste management facilities would offer bulk waste discount, so rather then spreading all your waste over a few facilities, if feasible, go to one facility but ask for a bulk discount.

Why do you produce waste?

A good question to ask is ‘is there anything our organisation can to do reduce the amount of waste we produce?’ If there is you should act on those initiatives which will decrease the need for commercial waste management, thus decreasing your bottom line.

The number one reason why your paying to much for your commercial waste management.

Mixed builders rubble would have to be one of the most expensive of commercial waste to discard of. It takes the most sorting and has the most contamination.

If your organisation could sort out specifics such as green waste, steel, plastic  concrete, dirt before it is loaded and sent to the faciclity this would save you more then a buck or two. Again you have to look at the feasibility of this for your best practice. If you produce enough of a quantity to fill a truck or container, do so in a manner that is efficient and cost effective. Basically, commercial waste management is a very large part of organisations, thus needs to be managed with full thought on every aspect. Thank-you for reading and hope you enjoyed.
